Tumelo has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) platform for shareholder voting research and recommendations aimed at asset owners and managers.
The platform, ProxyBeacon, looks to enable stewardship teams to aggregate and analyse issuer data, create their own custom policies, and generate voting recommendations in-house, at scale.
It will be used this proxy season by several asset owners and managers looking to enhance their internal stewardship capabilities.
Tumelo said that stewardship teams have faced growing pressure in recent years, as meeting volumes rise, voting deadlines tighten, and expectations increase.
Despite this, much of the underlying research process is still manual, the firm noted.
"Teams told us they needed to move faster, but not at the expense of rigour,” said Tumelo co-founder, Will Goodwin.
“They wanted to bring more of the research and decision-making process in-house, while retaining clear oversight of how recommendations are formed and why.
"ProxyBeacon was built in response to that; it helps teams focus on what matters, while keeping full control and transparency over every output."
The platform embeds AI directly into stewardship workflows, seeking to enable stewardship teams to generate their own research that reflects their policies and priorities.
ProxyBeacon operates entirely in-house to automatically generate custom research reports, governance flags, incorporate data, and improve transparency.
“ProxyBeacon is speeding up stewardship teams — without sacrificing depth or rigour,” commented Tumelo CEO, Georgia Stewart.
“It modernises research workflows in a way that’s practical, transparent and aligned with how stewardship is evolving.”
