Lothian Pension Fund has appointed Jennifer O’Brien as chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately.
She succeeds Alan Sievewright, who has moved to a new role. O’Brien brings over 20 years of experience in financial leadership across regulated and complex financial services organisations. She has held senior roles in both smaller businesses and large corporates, including Aegon, RBS, and M&G, where she served as divisional CFO and led finance strategy, transformation, and M&A integration. Commenting on her appointment, O’Brien said she is “delighted” to be joining Lothian Pension Fund and looks forward to contributing to “its strong track record of prudent financial management and governance”.
Aretas Trustees has appointed Simran Kaur as a trustee director.
Kaur joins from PwC, where she held a senior role working with pension scheme sponsors and trustees to implement strategy. She has a variety of experience across large schemes, managing in-house schemes and developing member-focused solutions and communications during periods of scheme change. In addition, Kaur has been involved in superfund transactions. Aretas Trustees partner and trustee director, Nadeem Ladha, said that Kaur’s depth of experience, together with her understanding of broader options such as superfunds, will be of “real value” to the schemes it looks after, as well as their members and sponsors.
Muse Advisory has announced the appointment of Adam Chate as a senior consultant.
To his new role, Chate brings strong knowledge of pensions management from previous in-house roles. He is a senior pensions professional with more than 20 years of experience spanning in-house management, consultancy and administration roles. He has spent the past 15 years of his career in demanding in-house pensions roles at 3i Group and Barclays.
M&G has made several senior appointments.
Paul Haegy has been appointed as head of infrastructure debt and private placement. He will be responsible for leading the scaling of M&G’s origination and structuring of infrastructure debt opportunities. Before joining M&G, Haegy worked at Goldman Sachs for over 15 years, most recently as head of EMEA infrastructure and energy financing. Meanwhile, M&G Investments has appointed Lee Tindell as asset management chief information and technology officer. He joined the company on 5 May and will lead technology change across M&G Investments. In this role, he will focus on utilising data, AI, and analytics to support the improvement of client outcomes and advance the firm’s growth agenda. He has over 25 years of experience leading large-scale technology transformation programmes in global financial services businesses. Tindell joins from Mercuria, where he was chief technology officer for applications.
