LCP has named Stuart McDonald head of longevity and demographic insights, effective from October.
Working across the actuarial and health analytics teams, McDonald will help clients to estimate the lasting impact of the pandemic on mortality, population morbidity and inequalities, within the DB pensions market and the health care sector. McDonald also sits on the executive committee of the Continuous Mortality Investigation (CMI), and joins from Lloyds Banking Group, where he is currently head of demographic assumptions and methodology.
XPS Pensions Group has appointed Jo Carter as new partner in its risk settlement business.
Carter brings over 25 years’ experience to the role and has advised on a range of buy-in and buyout projects for schemes of all sizes, including transactions in excess of £1bn and involving a number of multi-nationals. Her new role will see her focused on helping clients with strategic endgame journey planning.
Railpen has appointed Maria Averkina as asset and development manager.
Averkina joins the team from British Land, where she began as an analyst before moving into the development team. Prior to this, she also had a secondment with Cushman and Wakefield in Singapore. In her new role, she will be responsible for developing bespoke strategies across Railpen’s diverse portfolio, delivering on its strategy of creating clusters of high-quality assets with strong sustainability credentials.
