LangCat has announced the appointment of Tom McPhail as director of public affairs.
The new role will see McPhail lead on various strategically important reports, sharing expertise and insight on the regulatory and political landscape, and supporting clients on public policy, pensions and PR. Prior to this, he spent 20 years at Hargreaves Lansdown as head of policy and lead spokesperson on pension issues. He has since spent time working on transport policy and, most recently, conducted an independent review of the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) for the Department for Work and Pensions.
Hymans Robertson has promoted Callum Stewart to head of defined contribution (DC) investment.
Stewart, who initially joined Hymans Robertson in 2015, brings 13 years’ experience in the pensions industry to the role, and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. In his new role, he is responsible for DC master trust and single-employer clients, and will be actively involved in driving the firm’s approach to climate change and responsible investment.
Pegasus has expanded its Manchester team with two new hires
The company, which is LawDebenture’s provider of outsourced pensions executive services, has appointed Nigel Modlinsky and Lena Wyszynska as senior pensions executive and pensions executive respectively. Modlinsky brings over 20 years of experience, having previously worked as an actuary and as Manchester Airports Group pensions manager. Wyszynska, meanwhile, has a varied background in the pensions industry, having previously worked as pensions administrator across 30 defined benefit (DB) and hybrid schemes, and most recently served as a trustee representative.
