Appointments update - 18 January 2023

TPT Retirement Solutions has named David Lane as CEO.

Lane, who has been serving as interim CEO since June 2022, initially joined TPT as chief finance officer in June 2013, having also held the role of chief operating officer from 2019. Prior to this he held several trustee roles, including Stanley Tools UK Pension Scheme chair of trustee, and Jacuzzi UK Retirement Benefits Scheme as a member-nominated trustee. Following his appointment, Lane is expected to undertake a strategic review of TPT's business to shape its next phase.

LCP has announced the appointment of Ruth Ward as a principal.

Ward has over 16 years of de-risking experience, including buy-ins and buyouts, Pension Protection Fund (PPF)+ cases, buy-in restructures, and merger & acquisition-driven deals. Her appointment was made as part of a wider expansion of LCP’s longevity de-risking practice, which has grown by over 10 people in the past year to take the total headcount to 60, which LCP suggested may be the largest team dedicated to buy-ins and buyouts.

Broadstone has appointed Chris Rice as head of trustee services.

Rice has been with Broadstone for the past two years as senior actual director and brings 15 years of industry experience to the business. The new role will see him lead Broadstone’s trustee offering as part of its wider consulting and actuarial division, supporting trustees with advice and technology to help them understand their choices. Commenting on this appointment, Rice stated: “The demands on trustees are wide-ranging – from day-to-day investment and funding to achieving buy-out – and I am excited to provide an ever-increasing level of advisory support in this area, complementing our award-winning administration service.
