News in brief - 20 January 2023

Hargreaves Lansdown has launched an online share voting service in partnership with Broadridge.

The service aims to allow Hargreaves Lansdown clients to vote on their holdings of UK and European shares more quickly and easily and access all upcoming shareholder meetings, such as AGMs, relating to their shareholdings through their online account. The launch was welcomed by Hargreaves Lansdown head of trading position, Tom Lee, who commented: “Retail investors are taking a keener interest in having the power to influence corporations on important issues such as board diversity, climate change and sustainability. Providing a new digital capability for this self-service system gives retail investors a greater say in the governance of the companies in which they hold shares and the democratisation of markets."

Infront has announced it is extending its partnership with Clarity AI.

In the renewed partnership, Infront will onboard the full suite of Clarity AI’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) data, increasing the data granularity it can offer its clients on “one of the most pressing issues” for both investment managers and their clients. The first partnership with Clarity AI, which was concluded in 2021, saw the firm integrate ESG risk scores for over 50,000 companies, 320,000 funds, and 400 governments into its display products. Three levels of data granularity were provided, with the current partnership adding SFDR Principle Adverse Impact, EU Taxonomy, and company exposures for analysis and reporting.

Sackers & Partners LLP has been certified as a Top Employer for its “outstanding” HR policies and people practices by The Top Employers Institute programme.

The announcement was greeted with enthusiasm by Sackers HR director, Debbie Holmes, who commented: “We pride ourselves on our unique culture and the down to earth people who make Sackers a great place to work. The importance placed on staff wellbeing, the provision of high-quality learning and development, and initiatives to improve diversity and inclusion are just some of our standout qualities. This recognition really showcases the firm’s efforts to make sure people can flourish at work and the belief that this, in turn, will enhance the top-quality advice and service we give to all clients.”
