Appointments update – 8 June 2026

Legal & General (L&G) has appointed Charlotte Quarmby as head of transitions within its pension risk transfer (PRT) business.

Quarmby joins from Aon and brings over 10 years of experience advising pension scheme trustees through the risk transfer process. The appointment forms part of a broader evolution of L&G's PRT business, aimed at bringing the pre-buyout stages of the client journey under the same team responsible for trustee and employee benefit consultant relationships, while aligning closely with onboarding and post-buyout customer teams. This appointment follows recent leadership changes across L&G's institutional retirement business, including the appointments of Sarah Spooner and Rob Groves.

The Northern Local Government Pension Scheme Pool has announced several senior appointments across its senior leadership team at Northern LGPS (NLGPS).

John Dewey has been appointed chief investment officer, Sera Sadrettin as chief operating and finance officer, and Lorraine Solway as chief risk officer. Dewey previously held the same position at the West Yorkshire Pension Fund and was the managing director of HSBC Alternatives in Singapore before that. Sadrettin most recently worked as the head of alternative assets operations at Fidelity International. Solway joins from Octopus Money, where she served as the chief risk officer, a position she also held at Virgin Money and NEST.

Standard Life has appointed Bank of America Global Markets Credit director, Priya Kainth, as its first Master Trust Board apprentice.

The developmental position is designed to support the next stage of Kainth’s trustee learning journey, following the successful conclusion of Standard Life’s two-year Trustee Accelerator Programme pilot. Kainth is joined by three fellow trainees – Verizon managing director, Dean Dennis; Standard Life communications specialist, Tom Dibble; and Standard Life risk business partner lead, Danielle Devoy. As part of their development, Dennis, Dibble and Devoy have secured positions on the Board’s sub-committees, gaining exposure to investment and sustainability, administration, communications and engagement, and risk and governance.
