Cartwright has appointed Trystan Davies as director of clients and market development.
Davies will work across the Cartwright Group, supporting client management and development, strategic growth and market engagement across its specialist advisory businesses, including pensions, treasury, employee rewards, charitable trusts and funeral trusts. He has over 30 years of experience in professional services, pensions and employee benefits, having held senior client, strategy, sales and leadership roles at Aon, PwC, Mercer, Hymans Robertson, Aptia and Capita. Throughout his career, he advised a range of organisations varying in size and led teams delivering actuarial, administration and investment consulting services across the pensions and HR sectors.
The British Business Bank has appointed four new non-executive directors and confirmed the reappointment of its chair.
The British Business Bank has appointed Kerry Baldwin, Ruth Handcock and Robin Murray as non-executive directors to the board of British Business Bank plc, and Piers Lowson to the board of British Business Bank Investment Services Limited. Each term will last three years from the date of appointment, and at the end of the term, they may be appointed for another three-year term. The government has also confirmed the reappointment of Stephen Welton as non-executive chair of the Bank for a second three-year term, from 5 October 2026.
Aptia has appointed Ian Burns as head of investment consulting.
Burns brings over 30 years of experience in pensions and investment consulting, having advised trustee boards and corporate clients throughout his career. He is also a qualified actuary and has held several senior leadership positions. Before joining Aptia, Burns was a principal in investment solutions at Gallagher, and before that, he served as regional market leader for the North at Mercer. He has also worked at JLT Employee Benefits, KPMG, PwC, HSBC Actuaries and Consultants and Clerical Medical Investment Group. In his new role, Burns will lead Aptia's investment consulting proposition, supporting its clients with investment strategy, governance and risk management.
Broadstone has hired Bethany Devin as principal consultant – health & risk and Daniel Murdoch as director.
Devin joins Broadstone from Everywhen and brings over 20 years of experience helping clients achieve better outcomes through risk and health consultancy to her new role. She has also worked at Foster Denovo, Lockton Companies, Hymans Robertson and Aon. Meanwhile, Murdoch joins Broadstone from Coventry Building Society, where he was head of credit model integration. He brings significant experience in risk modelling and an internal risk-based approach across the banking and credit markets, having worked previously at Nationwide, Lloyds Banking Group, TSB Bank and Virgin Money. Daniel will join Broadstone’s Banking & Credit advisory division.
