Appointments update - 7 July 2026

BESTrustees has announced the appointment of Jay Solanki as a professional trustee.

Solanki joined BESTrustees on 1 July, after a 25-year career working with pension schemes and employers on all aspects of their pension arrangements. Before this, Solanki worked at Isio, where he served as head of governance. He has also previously held the same role at Premier Pensions Management Limited prior to its acquisition by Isio. In this role, he specialised in strategic governance advice, supporting trustee boards as secretary, advising companies, and working as an outsourced pensions manager.

Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI) has appointed Faith Ward as strategic adviser.

In her new role, Ward will provide strategic guidance and practical support across the pool’s responsible investment and external advocacy activities. She previously worked at Brunel Pension Partnership for almost a decade and most recently served as chief responsible investment officer. LPPI head of responsible investment, Frances Deakin, and Ward have been counterparts since Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) pools were formed a decade ago.

Aon has announced that Laura Jackson has joined the independent trustee board of the Aon MasterTrust.

Jackson is currently a consultant supporting clients in the fields of employee health and wellbeing. She previously spent over 20 years with Credit Suisse, in roles including global head of benefits strategy and EMEA head of benefits, pensions, payroll and wellbeing. She was also a trustee of Credit Suisse’s UK and overseas pension arrangements. The other members of the Aon MasterTrust board are Zedra managing director, Kim Nash (chair), BESTrustees trustee executive, Jenny Davidson, Law Debenture Pension Trustees, Jonathan Hawkins, Paul Macro and Keith Scott.

Sackers has appointed Michael Jones as a partner from Eversheds Sutherland.

Jones trained and qualified at Linklaters. He moved to Pinsent Masons before becoming a partner at Eversheds Sutherland in 2021. Jones was also named as a next generation partner in Legal 500 and is well known in the market as a frequent commentator and speaker on defined contribution (DC) issues. Commenting on the appointment, Sackers senior partner, David Saunders, said: “Michael is an outstanding DC lawyer with extensive experience advising own-trust schemes, master trusts, and providers.”
