The London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA) has appointed Carol Campbell as its director of governance, risk and legal.
She will start her role in mid-April 2026, following the completion of her 18-month interim head of legal role at Lothian Pension Fund (LPF). At LPF, Campbell advised on governance, regulatory compliance and fiduciary duties across both LPF and its Financial Conduct Authority-regulated investment management company. Before LPF, she held the statutory position of monitoring officer for the City of Edinburgh Council. Commenting on the appointment, LPFA CEO, Jo Donnelly, said the fund is “delighted” that Campbell is joining the LPFA. “She brings a wealth of governance and legal expertise, and her background across local government, the Local Government Pension Scheme and regulated financial services will play a crucial role in strengthening our assurance and risk capabilities,” she added.
Eversheds Sutherland has appointed Simon Borhan and Craig Looker as partners in its UK pensions team.
Borhan joins from Linklaters and sits on the Defined Contribution & Investment Sub‑Committee of the Association of Pension Lawyers. He is also a member of both the Pensions UK Legal Advisory Group and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries Fiduciary Duty Working Party. Meanwhile, Looker rejoins Eversheds Sutherland from DLA Piper, bringing over 17 years of specialist pensions experience. Borhan will work in the London office, while Looker will work in the Leeds office.
Aptia has announced the appointment of Sarah Steel as head of market relations.
Steel brings more than 30 years of experience in the pensions sector, joining from NatWest Cushon, where she served as director of corporate relationships. In her career, Steel has held senior roles at Aon and Hymans Robertson and spent two years running her own company providing financial wellbeing services. At Aptia, she will lead the provider’s engagement with stakeholders to strengthen relationships and ensure its services continue to evolve in line with the needs of pension schemes, sponsors, and trustees.
