Appointments update 13 August 2021

SEI has named Nicola Benstead defined contribution (DC) client director.

Benstead has extensive experience in the DC market, having most recently worked as head of client relations at Aegon, where she covered more than £20bn in assets under management. Prior to this, she also served as BlackRock head of DC clients and a senior consultant at Willis Towers Watson. In the new role, she will be responsible for relationship management with SEI’s DC clients within the master trust.

AJ Bell has appointed Billy Mackay managing director of AJ Bell Investcentre.

Mackay has been marketing director of AJ Bell Investcentre for 13 years and, in his new role, will be responsible for the platform’s development roadmap, distribution and adviser service proposition, in addition to his existing marketing responsibilities. He succeeds Fergus Lyons, who will move into an advisory role to oversee and support the development of Touch by AJ Bell and its future growth in the adviser market, as of 1 October 2021.

Tenet has announced the appointment of Martin Tyler as chief financial officer.

Tyler, who will oversee all group financial activities, has over 15 years’ experience in senior roles in financial services, and joins from The Gelert Group of Companies, where he was CFO since 2019. Prior to this, he also held senior finance roles at Howden Insurance Brokers, Agria Forsaking and Bluefin Insurance Group. The appointment, which is subject to FCA approval, precedes the upcoming departure of Keely Craig, who is working closely with Tyler over a three-month period to ensure a smooth transition.
