Smart Pension has appointed Stuart Reid as director of workplace pensions.
Reid is well known in the UK pensions industry, having previously worked for Scottish Widows, where he led growth in its contract based and master trust schemes. Prior to this, he was responsible for driving growth in DC pensions at Hymans Robertson, having also spent time at WTW, Capita Employee Benefits and Standard Life. His appointment was welcomed by Smart UK CEO, Jamie Fiveash, who commented “We’re delighted Stuart has joined Smart Pension”.
Harriet Hayward appointed defined contribution (DC) client director by SEI.
Hayward brings more than 11 years of experience in the pensions industry and extensive client management and proposition development experience to her new role. She joins SEI from the LifeSight Master Trust team at WTW, where she was responsible for LifeSight’s largest clients, overseeing both service delivery and strategy for the whole client portfolio. Her appointment was welcomed by SEI DC client director, Nicky Benstad, who commented: “Harriett’s deep understanding of client needs, aligned with her experience and knowledge that spans all aspects of the master trust landscape, will be invaluable.”
The Financial Ombudsman Service has announced the appointment of a new deputy chief ombudsman and chief operating officer.
James Dipple-Johnstone has been appointed as deputy chief ombudsman and Karl Kahn has been appointed as chief operating officer. Dipple-Johnstone brings experience from his role as deputy commissioner for the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), where he provided strategic leadership focused on ICO’s efforts towards dispute resolution and enforcement. Kahn brings his own expertise having recently completed a secondment from HM Revenue and Customs to the UK Health Security Agency as operations performance and improvement director. Both Dipple-Johnstone and Kahn will take up their roles by 3 October.
