Appointments update - 31 March 2025

Legal & General (L&G) has appointed Paula Llewellyn as CEO of defined contribution (DC) & workplace savings.

In the newly created role, Llewellyn will be working across L&G’s Retail and Asset Management businesses. She will be responsible for the combined growth of L&G’s DC & Workplace Savings business, ensuring that the firm maximises its market leadership and continues to deliver for its DC clients and members. She moves across from her current role as retail chief customer and strategy officer. Commenting on the appointment, L&G Retail CEO, Laura Mason, said: “Paula brings a strong track record in leadership, commercial delivery and customer strategy. Her outstanding people leadership, deep insight and expertise in member engagement will be instrumental as we continue to build a client and member-centric DC Workplace & Savings business.”

Hymans Robertson has announced four new equity members and 12 partner appointments.

Gemma Sefton, Sally Haran, Ross Fleming and Susan McIlvogue have been promoted to equity members at the firm. In addition to this, the firm has appointed 12 people to partners. Abhishek Srivastav, Ben Farmer and Nick Jellema have been appointed as partner of investment defined benefit (DB). Andrea Black has been appointed as partner of human resources, Catherine Bamber and Neal Cherrie have been appointed as partner of Hymans Robertson investment services and Chris Arcari has been appointed as partner of investment research. Meanwhile, Lisa Whitfield has been appointed as partner of strategic relationships, Peter Henessey has been appointed as partner of benefit specification unit, corporate social responsibility & communication and Laura McMillan has been appointed as partner of project management. Additionally, Heather Allingham has been appointed as partner of actuarial private, while Craig Alexander has been appointed as partner of actuarial public.

Invesco has announced the appointment of two people to its defined contribution (DC) distribution team.

Ryan McGowan has been appointed as DC associate director in the UK distribution team, while Gabriel Misson joins the team as DC sales and client associate. McGowan will be based in London and report to head of DC clients, Mary Cahani. Before joining Invesco, he held various roles at SEI Investments. Misson is an internal hire having previously worked in the client onboarding team at Invesco. Cahani commented: “Working with the wider distribution team, Ryan and Gabriel’s experience and understanding of the needs and challenges our clients face and how to deliver the outcomes they need, will support Invesco’s ambition to be a full-service provider for our DC clients.”
