LGPS Central has appointed Nigel Peaple as director of policy.
Peaple, who joins from the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA), has more than 25 years of experience across the public and private sectors in the field of pensions and investments. In this newly created role, Peaple will lead the group's work on public policy and external engagement. His remit includes building relationships with key stakeholders, including HM Treasury and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
Ian Cornelius has been confirmed as permanent CEO of Nest Corporation.
Cornelius has served as the interim CEO of Nest since May 2024, during which time he has overseen the development and implementation of the scheme’s 2030 corporate strategy and new purpose: building financial peace of mind for all. Prior to this, he served as interim group CEO at Skipton Building Society, having previously been Skipton’s commercial & strategy director for a decade. Commenting on his appointment, Cornelius said: “I am honoured to be appointed as Nest's permanent CEO. Working with such a dedicated team has been a privilege, and I'm excited for what lies ahead. Nest members are my top priority. We remain committed to providing the support and security they need in pursuit of our purpose - building financial peace of mind for all. Zedra has appointed Dean Blackburn as CEO.
Having joined the business as deputy chief executive officer in September 2024, Blackburn brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience across the financial and professional services sectors, having previously served as chief commercial officer and group head of institutional client services at JTC. Ivo Hemelraad will now move to a non-executive director role on the Group Holdings board as Blackburn takes up the chief executive officer role.
