ZEDRA acquires BNP Paribas Jersey Trust Corporation

Active wealth, global expansion and pension and corporate incentives specialist, ZEDRA, has completed the acquisition of BNP Paribas Jersey Trust Corporation, after receiving regulatory approval from the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

The acquisition, which was first announced in March 2022, is expected to bring additional scale and local expertise to ZEDRA's Jersey office, which is already the firm’s largest office.

The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions by ZEDRA, including PTL, which has since rebranded to ZEDRA Governance Limited, and Caledonian Trustees Limited and Inside Pensions.

The announcement also follows ZEDRA’s acquisition of BNP Paribas Singapore Trust Corporation in July 2020, which is now fully integrated and renamed ZEDRA Trustees (Singapore) Limited.

ZEDRA head of Channel Islands, Steven Bowen, hightlighted the acquisition as "a significant opportunity" to broaden ZEDRA's capabilities in the Channel Islands.

Adding to this, ZEDRA chief executive officer, Ivo Hemelraad, said: “We are delighted to complete the acquisition of BNP Paribas Jersey Trust Corporation Limited, a jurisdiction which we value immensely and have seen tremendous innovation over recent years.

"We are looking forward to working closely with BNP Paribas as we continue to look for new opportunities to broaden our offering to current clients and tap into exciting new markets.”
