Which? has expanded its partnership with Just Group to offer a new retirement-planning service, Destination Retirement, designed to help consumers approach and navigate retirement with greater confidence.
The service, created by Just Group, combines digital planning tools with access to regulated retirement specialists, providing personalised support designed to help individuals plan, manage and adjust their retirement strategy over time.
The launch followed research from Which? showing that nearly a third (30 per cent) of retirees were not entirely satisfied with how they approached retirement, often wishing they had planned earlier.
In addition, almost half (49 per cent) of those yet to retire said they were unsure how much money they would need for a comfortable retirement.
Which? said key milestones - such as gaining access to private pensions or becoming eligible for the state pension - often prompted significant financial decisions, but many people made these choices without fully understanding the long-term impact on their income or whether their savings would last throughout retirement.
Destination Retirement builds on an existing relationship between the two organisations.
Which? first partnered with HUB Financial Solutions, part of Just Group, in late 2022 to offer an equity release service, followed by an annuity comparison service in summer 2024.
The new offering broadens the collaboration from individual products to a more holistic retirement planning proposition.
Commenting on the launch, Which? commercial director, Phil Amy, warned that too many people reached retirement feeling uncertain about whether they had made the right financial decisions.
“Which? research shows that nearly a third of retirees aren’t entirely happy with how they approached retirement, most often because they didn’t save enough, retired too soon, or didn’t plan early enough,” he stated.
"By extending our partnership with Just Group and offering Destination Retirement, we’re giving consumers practical, accessible support that goes beyond general guidance, combining trusted digital tools with specialist help so people can plan their retirement with greater clarity and control."
Just Group group marketing and distribution director, David Cooper, said the partnership would bring together two established brands with a shared focus on helping consumers make informed decisions.
“We believe expert support should be affordable for everyone and provide peace of mind about the future. Wherever you are on your retirement journey, Destination Retirement can help," he added.
