Former chief executive of The Pensions Regulator (TPR), Lesley Titcomb, has been named as a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the Queen’s birthday honours list.
Titcomb, who was chief executive of TPR between March 2015 and February 2019, was awarded the title for services to pensions regulation.
Following the announcement, Titcomb said in a tweet: “A huge thank you for all the wonderful messages over the weekend and a big shout out to all my erstwhile colleagues at TPR, without whom none of it would have been possible.”
The Pensions Advisory Service (TPAS) former chief executive, Michelle Cracknell, was named alongside Titcomb as a CBE recipient, for services to the pensions industry.
Cracknell was appointed chief executive of TPAS in October 2013 and said in a post on LinkedIn: “Today I am the lucky recipient of an award on behalf of TPAS. TPAS is a worthy winner of the CBE.”
In 2018, it was announced that TPAS would be absorbed into the newly created Money and Pensions Service, however it was revealed that Cracknell would not be joining the new service.
Debt Management Office non-executive director, Brian James Duffin, was given an Order of the British Empire (OBE), for services to the UK pensions industry.
Several Department for Work and Pensions staff were also awarded Companion of the Order of Bath’s (CB), OBE’s and Member of the Order of the British Empire’s (MBE), including legal director Frances Clare Nash, deputy director Stuart Cameron Griffiths and work coach Rodney Grant.
