Alstom UK’s Common Investment Fund has appointed Mercer to provide fiduciary management services for three of their UK pension schemes.

The pension schemes have assets totalling £1.6bn and the appointment increases Mercer’s fiduciary business in the UK to £58bn. The trustees of the schemes selected Mercer following a review of their in-house asset management arrangements and were supported by PwC throughout the process. Mercer will provide portfolio management, operational and implementation support to help deliver the trustees’ long-term objectives.

Hub Group has launched an interactive digital service that aims to help employers, pension scheme trustees and corporate partners offer a financial wellbeing service to their colleagues and members.

Hub Group, which is the corporate solutions and advisory subsidiary of Just Group, described its newly launched ‘Pension Buddy’ as an “easy-to-use interactive resource” that helps people aged 45 and over start to think about and visualise their life after work in order to encourage greater engagement with pension saving and planning.

Phoenix Group has extended its charity partnership with Samaritans for a second year.

Since the partnership launched in April 2021, Phoenix Group has donated more than £340,000 to Samaritans, a charity that is there for anyone who is “struggling to cope, day and night, 365 days a year”. As well as supporting the charity financially, Phoenix Group staff have attended workplace training courses delivered by Samaritans’ experts, as well as awareness-raising sessions.
