Aon is reviewing the Trustee Board of its market-leading Defined Contribution MasterTrust as part of its ongoing governance framework. As the MasterTrust continues to evolve, including Aon's recently announced intention to introduce a whole-life Collective Defined Contribution section, we are reviewing the Board's composition to ensure it continues to provide an appropriate balance of skills, experience, diversity of thought and independent oversight.

We are therefore inviting applications from experienced pensions professionals who wish to be considered for appointment to the Trustee Board from December 2026. Following completion of the review process, we may make one or more appointments to support the MasterTrust’s future governance and ongoing development.

The Trustee Directors are non-executive roles paying a rate commensurate with the job. It is expected that each Trustee Director will commit at least 15 days per annum to the role and will be subject to The Pension Regulator’s Fit and Proper requirements.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
• Professional trustee or pensions governance experience
• Excellent communication skills including with DC and CDC market participants, current and prospective clients
• Strong analytical, questioning and effective decision-making skills
• Pragmatic, collaborative and collegiate approach
• The commitment and capacity to contribute fully to Board activities.

Individual Trustee Directors need not be experts in all aspects, but the overall balance of the Board remains key. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the Board's collective experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Defined Contribution pensions and member outcomes.
• MasterTrust governance and regulation.
• Investment governance and oversight.
• Pension administration and service delivery.
• Member experience and communications.
• Strategic change, innovation and the development of new pension solutions.
• Collective Defined Contribution pensions or related experience including consideration of complex assumptions and member outcomes.

To apply, please email recruitment.team@aon.co.uk to submit your CV together with a supporting statement of no more than 500 words setting out what you would bring to the role and how your skills and experience would complement the Board by Friday 25th September.
