Schroders plans to add two new Unit Trusts to the firm’s portfolio of sustainable-focused solutions; the Schroder Sustainable UK Equity Fund and Schroder Global Sustainable Value Fund.

This follows the launch of the two UK Unit Trusts for Schroders’ Global Sustainable Growth (GSG) and Global Energy Transition (GET) funds earlier this year. Schroders said the latest additions demonstrate its “ongoing commitment to providing a sustainable fund range to meet the evolving needs of UK investors”. The funds’ investment universe is determined using exclusion screens and proprietary tools, such as Schroders SustainEx, as well as fundamental investment research, in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Robeco and Quintet Private Bank have partnered to launch one a European USD green-bond strategy.

RobecoSAM US Green Bonds – a carve-out from RobecoSAM Global Green Bonds, launched last year – aims to provide diversified exposure to the US green-bond market, fuelling positive environmental impact while aiming to provide long-term capital growth that outperforms the Bloomberg Barclays MSCI USD Green Bond Index. As exclusive partner for the six months following launch, Quintet has targeted an initial commitment of EUR 125m to the strategy, which will be deployed in Quintet discretionary portfolios as part of the wealth manager’s “sustainable by default” strategy.

Legal & General (L&G) has announced that it will fund and deliver a new innovation district with the University of Oxford, extending Oxford’s existing Begbroke Science Park.

The first phase of the scheme will bring forward new teaching facilities for the universities’ Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences departments, as well as providing space to incubate spin-out companies. Future phases will also seek to develop 2,000 new homes, with a mix of affordable tenures and subsidised key worker accommodation. The new Begbroke innovation district forms part of Legal & General’s £4bn partnership with the University of Oxford; Oxford University Development.
