The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has held its first event as part of its Innovation Support Service, with a policy hackathon held to generate creative ideas for solving some of the biggest problems in pensions.

The event brought together pensions professionals, service designers, and fintech founders to develop answers to issues including decumulation, financial literacy, supporting self-employed people, improving administration and member experience, and promoting environmental, social, and governance principles. Key ideas raised as part of the hackathon include suggestions for a flexi fund for the self-employed, a personalised financial goal app, and an AI financial advisor. Industry experts also raised ideas around a potential community-designed investment and tools to enable joint pension visibility.

Donaldson has appointed First Actuarial to provide administration services for the Donaldson UK Pension and Death Benefits Plan.

The company said that it judged First Actuarial to be the ideal provider of more personalised services and support for its 422 scheme members. Commenting on the appointment, a Donaldson Plan trustee, said: "We’re all impressed with the engagement we’re getting. Our members seem happier. And First Actuarial’s administration leaders give us regular updates and make meaningful contributions to meetings.” The plan confirmed that it is also in the process of launching a member website, which offers financial wellbeing content such as videos, along with individual pension details.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management has announced the launch of the Goldman Sachs Emerging Markets Green and Social Bond Active UCITS ETF (GEMS).
