The Hertfordshire Pension Fund has appointed Barnett Waddingham to deliver actuarial, benefits and governance, and fund risk consultancy services, after securing a contract for up to 10 years with the fund.
Barnett Waddingham was selected following a competitive selection and tendering process.
The fund is operated by Hertfordshire County Council and has over 500 participating employers, more than 130,000 members, and an asset value of over £6bn.
Commenting on the appointment, Hertfordshire Pension Fund head, Patrick Towey, said the fund was “delighted” to work with Barnett Waddingham and looks forward to “building a strong, working relationship with Barry, Chris and their team over the years”.
“Barnett Waddingham’s appointment comes at the end of an extensive procurement process, and I would like to thank my team for their hard work to support the fund in making this key appointment," he stated.
Adding to this, Barnett Waddingham partner and fund actuary, Barry McKay, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by the Hertfordshire Pension Fund and are very much looking forward to working with them.
