EV has appointed Chet Velani as chief executive officer.
Velani takes on the role after more than 18 years with the business, having joined EV as a graduate in 2008 and progressed through a range of leadership positions spanning actuarial, sales, marketing, product and executive management. Most recently, he served as managing director. As CEO, Velani will be responsible for leading EV's future strategy, enabling financial services to serve more consumers through a continuum of financial planning support, from self-service guidance through to targeted support and hybrid advice to traditional adviser-led planning.
Danny Meehan has joined Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) as director of workplace, succeeding Stephen Lefley, who is retiring after more than nine years with HL.
Meehan joins from MUFG Pension & Market Services, where he worked as a growth leader. Before this, he was proposition & development director at workplace fintech Cushon, and his earlier career includes senior consulting and commercial leadership roles at Capita, including head of large client defined contribution consulting, and a non-executive directorship at investment platform TILLIT. Meehan will report to HL chief product officer, Doug Abbott, and start his new role in August.
Zedra has hired Stuart Travers as a client director.
Before joining Zedra, Travers was head of wealth strategy at Gallagher. Before this, he held trustee director roles at IGG and Vidett, where he advised pension schemes on governance, strategy and trustee decision-making. Travers started his new role in July and is based in Bristol. Commenting on the appointment, Zedra managing director, Kim Nash, welcomed him to the team and said his background across consultancy, strategic leadership and professional trusteeship is a “great” example of the company's belief that having people with varied professional experiences leads to better results for clients and strengthens Zedra’s team.
MFS Investment Management has announced the appointment of Henry Odogwu as senior managing director, institutional sales for EMEA.
Odogwu joins the firm from BlackRock, where he has worked since 2020 and most recently served as head of UK professional trustee relations. During his time there, he held several senior positions, including head of UK defined benefit sales and head of UK institutional sales for the iShares & Wealth business. Before BlackRock, Odogwu spent four years at FTSE Russell and earlier in his career, he held a role covering multi-asset risk analytics and EMEA institutional client coverage at MSCI. He has more than 25 years of experience in the asset management industry. In his new role, Odogwu will lead MFS Investment Management's institutional sales strategy across EMEA, overseeing business development and client engagement in key markets.
