Cardano has made two senior appointments in its defined contribution (DC) team.
David Bird has been installed as head of DC platform, which will see him lead the continued development of Cardano’s DC offering which advises single employer schemes. He has over 30 years’ experience in financial services and joins from Willis Towers Watson, where he was responsible for the LifeSight DC Master Trust. The company has also hired Stefan Lundbergh, the company’s current director of insights, as head of DC design. Lundbergh has various positions at Algemene Pensioen Groep (APG) in the Netherlands, as well as Skandia Life Insurance Company and the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund in Sweden.
LGPS Central Limited has appointed Gordon Ross as chief investment officer.
Ross, who will take up his new post on 1 July, joined the company as head of fixed income in February 2018 before becoming deputy chief investment officer in March 2019. He has almost four decades of experience in financial markets, having held positions at HSBC, Invesco, JP Morgan Chase and Deutsche Bank. LGPS Central Limited chief executive, Mike Weston, said: “We’re delighted to appoint Gordon as our chief investment officer. He has played a vital role in the success that LGPS Central Limited has had since inception.”
The Aviva Master Trust has appointed Elizabeth Renshaw-Ames as chief of trustees.
Renshaw-Ames was the former trustee CEO of the HSBC UK pension scheme and is the current chair of the management board of Barnett Waddingham. She was previously a senior partner at Mercer, where her last role was UK head of client management, and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Former chair Colin Richardson will remain a trustee of the master trust. Tilly Ross, a former non-executive director of The Pensions Regulator and the independent chair of Electricity Pensions Ltd, has also been appointed to the trustee board.
