Appointments update – 3 February 2026

Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI) has appointed Roelie van Wijk as a non-executive director, effective 1 April 2026.

She joins LPPI from Brunel Pension Partnership, where she also served as a non-executive director and member of the pool’s Investment Oversight Committee and chair of the Remuneration Committee. Van Wijk has gained experience in investment management, governance and leadership through senior executive and non-executive roles across the financial sector. She has held senior positions at Aegon, Philips, PGGM and ABN Amro. In addition to her board seat at LPPI, she will continue to serve as a non-executive director at ABP, the Netherlands’ largest pension fund, and at SVn, which supports Dutch municipalities and provinces in improving the built environment. She succeeds Martin Tully, who will be stepping down after eight years as non-executive director of LPPI.

Penfold has appointed Jonathan Schneider as chair.

His arrival at Penfold follows a career that began as a chartered accountant at Price Waterhouse and a banker at Merrill Lynch, before moving to the buy-side, where he established the Novator Credit Opportunities fund. Schneider currently chairs a portfolio of technology-led businesses, including Ada Health, Multiply.ai, and Wurthy.ai. His 25-year career has been spent building and backing high-growth finance firms, and brings a track record of scaling platforms from early-stage disruptors into major institutional players. He joins at a time when Penfold is increasing its growth within the workplace savings market. At Penfold, Schneider will work closely with the executive team as a consultant on strategy, fundraising, and the company’s expansion into the broader corporate market.

M&G has announced the appointments of Kirsten Morgan and Shoaib Ahmed as senior technical managers in its technical team.

Both Morgan and Ahmed will report to M&G head of technical, Les Cameron, and work to help shape the firm’s technical proposition. M&G’s Technical Team aims to provide advisers with high-quality analysis and clear guidance on complex legislation and regulatory change. Morgan has extensive technical consulting experience, following 25 years in roles at Standard Life, Aberdeen and Prudential. She is also a charter tax adviser. Meanwhile, Ahmed was previously a technical specialist at Rathbones, where he supported advisers with specialist insight into tax, trusts and pensions planning. He is a chartered financial planner, a member of the Personal Finance Society, a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and holds the STEP Diploma.
