The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has announced the appointments of Mandy Clarke and George Walker as non-executive directors to its board by Work and Pensions Secretary, Thérèse Coffey.
They fill the vacancies left by David Martin and Robert Herga and their appointments will last for five years. Clarke is a chartered HR professional with over 20 years’ board-level experience in international organisations in a variety of sectors including professional services, defence, engineering and support services. Walker is chair of the Scottish Housing Regulator and interim chair of the Scottish Charity Regulator. TPR chair, Sarah Smart, welcomed the appointments: “They bring a wealth of experience and skills to our board gained from a diverse range of roles and industries.”
Hymans Robertson has appointed Paul Hewitson as head of ESG for risk transfer.
Hewitson joined Hymans in February 2020 and specialises on advising trustees and sponsoring employers on risk transfer transactions, with a particular focus on buy-ins. This new role will see him lead the risk transfer team’s comprehensive review of ESG credentials of the eight insurance companies that offer buy-ins.
XPS Pensions Group has promoted four new partners, Vicki Hayter, Sameena Malik, Simon Reddish and Ash Williams.
Hayter is head of trustee governance services and leads a team of 40 consultants, Malik leads the facilities management and procurement function, managing the property portfolio, Reddish heads up the corporate pension accounting team and accounting service development, and Williams is leading on over £1bn of transactions in the insurance market in 2021.
