Heywood Pension Technologies has appointed Fraser Smart as CEO.
Smart joined Heywood in 2021 as chief strategy officer and has worked closely with the management team to develop and implement Heywood’s growth strategy. He was previously a partner at Hymans Robertson, president/executive managing director of Buck Consultants and CEO of BA Pensions, the organisation responsible for managing the UK DB schemes of British Airways. Heywood chairman, Chris Humphrey, welcomed the appointment: “He is an excellent choice for CEO to lead the business through the next stage of its growth.”
Alistair Dennis will succeed Richard Giles as head of teachers’ pensions for Capita Pension Solutions.
Dennis is a commercial director with over 14 years’ experience managing teams, proposals contract negotiations and accounts for large international corporate businesses across financial services, aerospace and defence industries. Giles retires after two years as head of teachers’ pensions at Capita and 32 years in the pensions industry and Capita Pension Solutions managing director, Stuart Heatley, said: “I would like to thank Richard for his strong leadership.”
PAN Trustees has announced the appointment of pensions lawyer Jon Walters as partner.
Walters has joined PAN after spending nearly 20 years with global law firm Eversheds Sutherland and has over 18 years of pensions industry experience having previously advised trustees, sponsors and providers in connection with a wide range of matters for both defined benefit and contribution pension schemes. PAN Trustees chairman, Steve Delo welcomed the appointment: “Jon is a pensions professional at the top of his game and his drive and energy make him an ideal independent trustee.”
