Appointments update – 21 July 2026

The London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA) has appointed Andre Katz as a new member of the LPFA Board.

Katz brings over 25 years of experience in risk management, assurance, governance, and operational resilience. He is a chartered accountant and a certified member of the Institute of Risk Management. In his career, he has also held senior leadership roles across a range of sectors, working within large, complex and global organisations. Katz currently serves as a non-executive director at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee at HMRC, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and the Chartered Insurance Institute. He has also served as senior independent director and chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Criminal Cases Review Commission.

Quantum Advisory has promoted Adam Cottrell to the role of principal consultant.

Cottrell joined Quantum Advisory in 2011, and before his promotion, he held the position of senior consultant and actuary. He is a scheme actuary and risk transfer specialist, serving on Quantum Advisory’s risk transfer and corporate advisory teams. He is focused on delivering high-quality trustee and corporate consulting advice in areas such as actuarial valuation, funding negotiations, benefit design and bulk annuity transactions. He is also a member of the Endgame Perspectives Group and co-leads its ‘Small Schemes Workstream’. He will be based in the Cardiff office.

WBR Group has appointed Roger Howman and Jason Wood as trustee consultants to its trustee consultancy team.

Howman joins WBR Group with over 30 years of experience in the small self-administered scheme (SSAS) and self-invested personal pension (SIPP) sector. He has previously held director positions with Lindley Trustees Limited and IFG Pensions Limited, and most recently worked as a technical manager with SSAS Reviews Limited. Wood also brings over 30 years of pensions experience to the role, having previously worked as an SSAS and SIPP consultant. He spent more than six years as a pensions technical specialist with Interactive Investor before joining WBR Group. The appointments come at a time of growing scrutiny for SSASs from The Pensions Regulator and HMRC, with member trustees under increasing pressure to fully understand their roles and responsibilities.
