Butler has over 30 years of experience in financial services and joins from Punter Southall, where he most recently led Pension Potential, a digital at-retirement guidance platform. He also held several senior roles in his 18 years at Punter Southall and Punter Southall Aspire, including chief executive and managing director. In his new role, Butler will support corporate clients to build dynamic and dedicated financial-wellbeing offerings for their employees. With over 20 years’ experience of working with pensions data, Pardoe brings a track record in leading data-focused initiatives and building trusted client relationships. In his new role, Pardoe will help lead the continued growth of Aon’s data solutions offering, working with clients to deliver complex pension projects, including buy-in to buyout data cleansing and both benefit and GMP rectification. He will also play a key role in shaping the firm’s market-facing propositions and the development of technology solutions.

Jayne-Anne Gadhia has been named as the government’s candidate for Financial Reporting Council (FRC) chair.

The Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Peter Kyle, has named Gadhia as the government’s preferred candidate for chair of the FRC, succeeding Sir Jan du Plessis, who steps down on 30 September. She has had a career spanning financial services, fintech and public service. She is a trained chartered accountant and built her career across insurance, retail banking and fintech. Most notably, she served as CEO of Virgin Money from 2007 to 2018. She currently serves as chair of Moneyfarm, OVO and Shakespeare’s Globe, lead non-executive director at HMRC, senior independent director at the Tate, director at PRA Group and Innovo Group and an advisor to SumUp. Gadhia’s nomination follows an open competition. The Business and Trade Committee will hold a pre-appointment scrutiny hearing and report on her suitability for the post, subject to which the Secretary of State will confirm the appointment.
