The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) has appointed Lisa McCrory as chief finance officer.
McCrory will be responsible for leading the PPF’s actuarial financial management, finance, commercial and internal audit departments. Having joined the PPF in March 2009 as financial assistance scheme operations actuary, she progressed to the role of actuarial practice leader in August 2010. More recently, she held the interim role of appointed actuary before taking up the position as chief actuary. McCrory also has experience supporting SME clients.
LPFA has announced the appointment of Peter Ballard as director of risk and funding.
Ballard joins the London Pensions Funds Authority’s management team, and will be responsible for all aspects of the fund’s funding policy investment strategy, and employer covenant assessment. Previously, Ballard was director at Willis Towers Watson, he is also a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
Artemis Investment Management has named Matthew Beesley as chief investment officer (CIO).
Joining the firm on 20 April 2020, Beesley will replace Peter Saacke, who held the role of CIO at Artemis from 2007-11, and again from January 2016. Prior to joining Artemis, Beesley was GAM head of investments, and was also a member of the group management board, chief executive and a board member of GAM’s three largest UK subsidiaries.
