Appointments update 10 August 2021

Mercer has appointed Sarika Goel as global head of sustainable investment research.

In the newly created role, Goel, who has been with Mercer since 2010, will be responsible for driving the agenda for manager research coverage of investment strategies across asset classes focused on sustainable development, climate transition, impact investment and stewardship. The appointment was announced in addition to a slate of new hires to the group’s global sustainable investment teams based in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Switzerland, US and UK. It was announced alongside news that Mercer was expanding its sustainable investment capabilities by 30 per cent to meet growing demand from clients.

Hargreaves Lansdown has named Helen Morrissey as senior pensions and retirement analyst.

Morrissey brings more than 18 years’ experience in the pensions industry to the role, including over 10 years as a financial journalist. She joins the team from Royal London, where she worked as a pensions specialist for over four years. The new role, based in London, will focus on working with the media to help raise awareness of key issues affecting how people plan and live in retirement.

Quilter Cheviot has announced the appointment of two new business development managers.

Marshall Docherty joins the Quilter Cheviot Edinburgh office from Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he was an investment sales team manager. In addition to this, Nick Lumb has been appointed to the Quilter Cheviot Leeds office, joining from Franklin Templeton, where he was responsible for discretionary and advisory relationships across North England and Scotland. Both Docherty and Lumb will be focused on building long-term strategic relationships with financial advisers and their clients, and will also be responsible for providing support around regulatory and business challenges.
