Quilter Plc has named John Gill as non-executive director on the board of its UK platform business, Old Mutual Wealth.
Gill leaves his role as UK and Europe chief risk officer at Standard Life to join Quilter, a position he had held since 2017. He initially joined Standard Life in 1986 and fulfilled multiple other job roles including managing director of finance, managing director of customers operations and chief executive of Standard Life Bank. Between 2006 and 2012 Gill was also a non-executive director at the Scottish Financial Enterprise.
Aries Insight has appointed of Gareth Stears as pensions technical consultant.
Stears previously worked as pensions administrator at both Barnett Waddingham and Hewitt Associates and as pensions operations analyst at Pensions Insurance Corporation. He is also an associate member of the PMI and has been volunteering as a pensions advisor with The Pensions Advisory Service since 2014.
The Transparency Task Force has named John Howard as the founding chair of its new advisory board.
Howard was previously the chair of the Financial Conduct Authority’s financial services consumer panel until 2008 and in 2010 he was hired as an independent commissioner by the Treasury for the Equitable Life Payments. He is currently vice chair of the Family Building society and sits on the board of the With Profits Committee and the Independent Governance Committee of Scottish Widows.
