The BT Pension Scheme has announced the appointment of Matt Davies as trustee director.
Davies replaces Emily Clark who has stepped down from the trustee board after leaving BT. He is chief finance officer at Openreach, a position he has held since 2017 and prior to joining Openreach Davies was the chief financial officer for BT Consumer. Additionally, he is a chartered management accountant and started his career at ITV where he trained as an accountant, before joining the finance team at Unilever. Commenting on the appointment, BT Pension Scheme chair, Jill Mackenzie, said she is “delighted” to welcome Davies to the BT Pension Scheme trustee board. “His extensive financial leadership experience and deep understanding of the BT Group will be invaluable as we continue to deliver on our commitment to the Scheme’s members. I would also like to thank Emily Clark for her dedicated service. Her insights and counsel have been greatly appreciated,” she added.
M&G Investments has appointed Neil Godfrey as global head of client group.
He will start his new role on 16 June 2025. In his new role, Godfrey will lead all distribution, marketing and client experience teams within asset management and will become a member of the executive leadership team, reporting to M&G Investments chief executive, Joseph Pinto. Godfrey has more than 24 years of asset management experience from Barings, formerly Babson Capital, where he was global head of distribution. He has over a decade of experience designing and taking to market private asset strategies for institutional investors. Prior to this, he spent five years at Barclays Global Investors, where he was responsible for capital raising and distribution for corporate and financial institutional clients in the UK and EMEA. Godfrey succeeds Neal Brooks who has decided to step down after almost 30 years with M&G, having held several senior leadership roles across the business, including distribution, business change, product and business development and investments.
Quantum Advisory has appointed Karyn Cooke as senior consultant and actuary.
Cooke joined Quantum Advisory from Hymans Robertson where she was a consultant and actuary who advised trustees of defined benefit (DB) schemes across actuarial and governance matters. Quantum Advisory partner, Joanne Eynon, said Cooke brings “a wealth of consulting experience and her client-focused attitude, alongside her clear ambition, skills and passion, aligns perfectly with our own”. Eynon said the consultancy is “delighted” to have Cooke on board. Adding to this, Cooke said she is “really looking forward to working with such a talented team” across the UK to help clients and colleagues achieve their goals.
