Appointments update 6 July 2021

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) has named Louise Pryor as president.

Pryor, who succeeds Tan Suee Chieh FIA, has over 40 years' experience and has been part of the presidential team as president elect for the past year, with that role now filled by Matt Saker. Commenting on her appointment, Pryor stated: “It’s a great honour to be chosen as the next president of the IFoA. Over the next year, my presidency will be focused on supporting members to develop their skills so they can adapt to change in existing areas of work as well as move into new areas.”

Eastman has appointed Willis Towers Watson’s OneDB to provide consolidated UK pension scheme services.

The firm was appointed to provide combined actuarial and administrative services to all three of Eastman’s UK defined benefit pension schemes, covering nearly 2,000 members and over £300m in assets under management, following a competitive tender process. The appointment follows the news that WTW has also been appointed to provide fiduciary management services for the same schemes, following a separate competitive tender process.

Quilter has announced the appointment of Tosin James-Odukoya as head of inclusion and wellbeing.

Based in London, she will be responsible for building on Quilter’s inclusion and diversity and employee wellbeing programme with the goal of cultivating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organisation. Prior to this, Tosin was global lead of inclusion and diversity at mobile operator trade body, GSMA, with previously experience also including HR roles at Alexander Mann Solutions, the New York Stock Exchange and HSBC. She succeeds Kate Richardson, who is leaving the firm to pursue studies at the London School of Economics.
