Pasa shares dashboard data accuracy guidance

The Pensions Administration Standards Association (Pasa) Data Working Group has published guidance on dashboards data accuracy, urging pension scheme trustees to take the necessary action ahead of the dashboards deadline.

The working group argued that it is “vital” for pension schemes to take action to ensure that key matching data is not only present but also accurate, particularly following The Pensions Regulator’s campaign to remind trustees that the dashboard deadline is approaching.

Whilst the working group acknowledged that accuracy testing and validation is a step further than typical data reviews, it emphasised that data is growing increasingly important, explaining that it is vital that this data is "accurate" and validated, as trustees need to be able to accurately confirm scheme data is a match to dashboards’ requests.

In light of this, the guidance provides a list of the various data sources available to accurately confirm if a pension member is alive or deceased, an address, date of birth, name and national insurance number (Nino).

“As the dashboards launch dates creep ever closer, trustees need to be able to accurately confirm their saver’s data is a match to dashboards’ requests, making it vital the data held is accurate and has been validated,” commented Pasa Data Working Group chair, Kristy Cotton.

"As a minimum, pension schemes should consider ensuring name, date of birth and Nino aren’t only present, but also accurate to ensure the correct data is available to be searched by a dashboard enquiry.”
