The Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) has stressed the need to maintain momentum over the next 12 months, with less than a year to go until the final deadline for schemes and providers to be connected to the pensions dashboards ecosystem.
In the latest update from the programme, PDP principal, Chris Curry, emphasised that there has been significant progress in the past year, with more than 50 million pension scheme memberships now connected to the ecosystem.
"We’ve come a very long way in the past 12 months, with over 50 million pension scheme memberships now connected to the ecosystem, representing around two-thirds of the final total that need to be connected," he stated.
"We’ve been able to make this progress because of the hard work and collaboration of the programme with our delivery partners, and also right the way across the industry."
However, Curry pointed out that there is now less than one year to go until the industry reaches 31 October 2026, the final deadline for pension schemes and providers to be connected to the pensions dashboards ecosystem.
This includes organisations with 100 or more members that have not otherwise been allowed to defer their connection beyond this date.
"We want to thank you for your support in [the progress made so far], but it’s important that we keep up the momentum over the next 12 months," he stated.
"We need to make sure that those who haven’t connected will be ready to connect in line with the guidance as we go through to October next year."
Curry also emphasised that "there will be plenty of help and support available from ourselves on the dashboards programme, but also from the regulators as well".
He stated: “Connection of pension providers and schemes is right on course, and we can begin to see the deadline of 31 October 2026 on the horizon.
"It’s a testament to the dedication of everyone involved that we’ve reached this point. I would urge any provider or scheme still to connect that is looking for help to get in touch with the Pensions Dashboards Programme.”
"So if you need any help or advice, please come to us so we can help you with that connection. Let’s make the next 12 months as successful as the previous 12 months," he added. "Let’s keep working together for the benefit of savers in the UK.
