Now Pensions hopes pledges will help close gender pensions gap

Now Pensions has committed to two Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Insuring Women's Futures pledges - the Financial Flexible Working pledge and Inclusive Customer Financial Lives pledges.

The company hopes that pledges like these will help close the gender pensions gap and generate equality.

It joins 18 other firms in helping female colleagues and workers manage the long-term financial implications of flexible working and life circumstances.

Other firms that have signed up to both pledges include Cardano, Lincoln Penions and Scottish Widows.

Commenting on the announcement, Now Pensions group HR director, Dawn Thirley, said: “Now Pensions is proud to support The CII Insuring Women’s Futures manifesto and sign up to the pledges to improve gender equality in our industry.

“It is important that we continue to support working mothers to ensure that they are not disadvantaged and have the same opportunities as others to work and progress in a rewarding career.

“We are proud to work alongside Insuring Women’s Futures and will continue in our efforts to generate awareness and help close the gender pensions gap.”

CII CEO, Sian Fisher, added: “I am delighted that employers and providers are leading by example, committing not only to improving the inclusivity of their customer approaches, but supporting their colleagues through their financial life journeys.

“I encourage any insurance or personal finance employers to consider how joining this growing group will add value to their business and support their colleagues and customers.”
