News in brief - 28 April 2023

Broadstone has launched a new larger scheme offering, ADM+.

ADM+ builds on Broadstone’s core administration offering, ADMCore, and incorporates a number of extra features to meet specific, bespoke demands, including dedicated admin relationship and project management, and online support for members via the 4myplan portal. The offering aims to recognise the additional services increasingly becoming required from such schemes in the evolving pensions landscape and is expected to enhance value for Broadstone’s growing client base across all scheme sizes.

Platform One has agreed to acquire Gaudi Trustees and the operation of more than £1bn self-invested personal pension (SIPP) assets currently administered by Gaudi Limited.

The acquisition is expected to bring a range of technical and administrative expertise to Platform One, bringing the group’s assets under administration and on technology to £2.7bn. It will also mean that Gaudi’s existing clients will gain access to Platform One’s array of offerings, should they wish to use them, such as custody, ISA management and technology. Gaudi Limited will be rebranded to Platform One in due course but will remain as it is for the time being. Platform One has also gained the appropriate permissions to run a SIPP alongside the deal, with an experienced group of new staff.

Six pension providers have achieved a gold financial wellness rating from Benefits Guru.

Benefits Guru’s third annual Financial Wellness Ratings revealed that six provider propositions, Aviva, Cushon, Fidelity, Hargreaves, Scottish Widows and Standard Life achieved an overall Gold rating in the without open finance ratings, as well as in a number of sub-categories. The highest number of gold ratings was awarded in the new ‘pension scams’ category, which Benefits Guru highlighted as demonstration of how seriously providers are taking this issue amid fears of a rise in scams and consumer susceptibility to scammers as a result of squeezed household finances. Five providers, Aviva, Mercer, Scottish Widows, Standard Life and True Potential were also benchmarked in the financial wellness with open finance category.
