News in brief – 27 May 2022

PensionBee has joined the Association of British Insurers’ (ABI) Making Flexible Work Charter, which aims to increase flexible working opportunities across the insurance and long-term savings industry.

Signatories of the charter agree to fulfil three key commitments within 12 months, including publishing the details of flexible working policies for employees or prospective candidates and advertising the majority of roles as being open to flexible working. Companies that sign the charter are also committed to implementing processes and guidance to support and promote different forms of flexible working, including job sharing where it makes sense to do so. This is the second ABI Charter that PensionBee has supported, having been an early signatory of the Transparent Parental Leave and Pay Initiative in 2019.

Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) has announced the launch of its Sustainable Growth Fund.

The new fund aims to combine RLAM’s expertise in equities and fixed income to take advantage of the investment opportunities available as a result of market inefficiencies, and the undervaluation of companies that can have a positive influence on society and the environment. The fund will be managed by Mike Fox, George Crowdy and Sebastien Beguelin.

Legal & General Investment Management Real Assets (LGIM Real Assets) has announced the final letting at 390 Strand, its building in central London.

The building is one of 19 properties in LGIM Real Assets’ Sustainable DC Property Fund and has tenants that include Ludlow Group, Sutton Architects, and Quint Events. Measures taken to enhance the ESG credentials of the building include the installation of a VRF combined heating and cooling system and a heat recovery ventilation system, LED lighting, water saving measures including leak detection and meters installed to each floor to enable occupiers to monitor their own lighting electricity, and air conditioning usage.
