State Street announced a new digital asset pilot in collaboration with Gemini Trust Company.

The first of its kind, the pilot will perform reporting scenarios on a user's holdings within Gemini Custody, allowing clients to consolidate the reporting of digital assets with Gemini and their traditional assets serviced by State Street. Initially reporting on holdings of two cryptocurrencies, chosen for liquidity reasons, the pilot can be adapted to report on other digital assets, such as security tokens.

Redington has secured Phoenix Equity Partners as a long-term investor.

The private equity backing will allow Redington to continue to develop its long-term proposition for clients, having seen "strong growth" in recent years, building from £115bn Assets under consulting in 2013 to over £500bn today. Redington CEO, Mitesh Sheth, described the investment as a "positive, natural and planned next step for the business". The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
