The Association of Professional Pension Trustees (APPT) has launched its Small Firms’ Forum as applications to its accreditation programme hit over 300.

Over 300 professional trustees have now applied for accreditation through APPT’s programme. The milestone follows the launch of its Small Firms’ Forum, a platform for professional trustees who work as sole traders or in small firms to share experiences and expertise, as well as discussing technical, commercial and governance challenges. It has already signed up 45 members from across the UK, and aims to ensure all professional trustees have the support they need to continue to deliver best practice and comply with the highest industry standards.

Hub Financial Solutions, the corporate solutions and advice business of Just Group, has launched Destination Retirement.

Destination Retirement is an automated retirement advice service to provide personalised solutions to retirees seeking to make the most of their pension savings. The new service is available to employers, pension scheme trustees and corporate partners who want to deliver the benefits of professional, regulated advice to their colleagues, members and customers as part of their benefits offering. Destination Retirement has been selected by Mercer to provide automated financial advice to its UK corporate clients.

M&G Investments has launched the M&G Shared Ownership Fund and announced a strategic partnership with the Hyde Group.

The partnership will deliver £500m of new, sustainably designed affordable homes and provide investors with index-linked rental income and house price exposure. The fund has launched with £215m of investment from Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Local Government Pension Schemes (LGPS), Homes England and two M&G client funds, alongside Hyde. The first stage of the partnership has been marked by the fund’s £61m acquisition of 422 homes from Hyde in London and Kent, which will remain in the regulated social housing sector and continue to be managed by Hyde for the long term.
