Publicis Sapient has partnered with BT Pension Scheme Management (BTPSM) to develop a new cloud-native technology platform to improve the scheme’s management of its assets and liabilities.

Publicis Sapient said the new platform was “uniquely suited” for the pensions industry, and that it helped reduce costs, improve investment management information and provide growth potential. The platform and new technology ecosystem were designed to modernise business processes and ‘enrich’ user experience. It aims to automate and make data/tools available to all key stakeholders so they can drill down to the lowest level to analyse variances, facilitate insights into detailed risk exposure and model future ‘what if scenarios’ to better design their portfolio.

The Capita Pension & Life Assurance Scheme has appointed Russell Investments as its fiduciary manager after a competitive tender process.

The appointment comes following the trustee’s decision to move to an improved investment governance model, which it hopes will allow the trustee to focus on the direction of the scheme’s investment strategy, while delegating the majority of day-to-day decisions to Russell Investments. Russell Investments will take responsibility for the scheme’s £1.5bn of assets, providing advice to meet the scheme’s self-sufficiency goals, and aiming to develop and implement a holistic investment framework that progressively increases the security of members’ benefits as the scheme’s membership matures.

Mirova has announced the launch of its first impact private equity fund.

The pan-European fund, the Mirova Environment Acceleration Capital fund, aims to invest in companies providing sustainable innovative solutions and technologies contributing to the environmental transition. The fund aims to raise €300m from institutional and private investors. The fund and its team will receive the support of the responsible investment research team, which has been analysing the sectors and actors of the environmental transition for almost 10 years.
