Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI) has established a new Portfolio Group, bringing together three existing teams with a newly established Portfolio Analytics team to improve support for its partner funds.
The Portfolio Group brings together LPPI’s Client Portfolio Management, Investment Strategy, and Responsible Investment teams, alongside the new Portfolio Analytics team.
LPPI said the structure represented the latest phase of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) pool’s evolution under the Fit for the Future policy.
It has been deigned to improve delivery for the pool’s nine partner funds by combining portfolio strategy and management within a single, connected group.
The Portfolio Analytics team will aim to complement the wider Portfolio Group, covering actuarial and asset liability, responsible investment, and climate data and modelling.
LPPI head of Client Portfolio Management, Duncan Higgs, head of Investment Strategy, Max Townshend, and head of Responsible Investment, Frances Deakin, will continue to lead their respective teams under the new structure.
The pool is currently recruiting for a head of Portfolio Analytics and is building new quantitative analytics capability to support portfolio decision making.
“The creation of our new Portfolio Group provides a transparent, scalable model for portfolio-level decisions and further develops our integrated portfolio capability,” said LPPI chief investment officer, Richard Tomlinson.
“Under the leadership of Duncan, Max and Frances, along with a new Portfolio Analytics team and enhanced analytics capabilities, the Portfolio Group will work together to improve how we serve our partner funds’ needs, meaning better outputs for them and our business.”
