CIPFA partners with Isio to update LGPS training

The Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA) and Isio have partnered to provide an updated training and support programme for pension board members in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). 

Isio and CIPFA will work together to deliver a range of learning resources and events for pension board members over the next 12 months, the first of which is expected to be held in London in May 2022.

Announcing the news, the two companies emphasised that members of local pension boards have a number of important responsibilities, including maintaining their knowledge of an “ever-evolving and challenging” issues, such as pension legislation and governance.

“Ensuring members of local pension boards have access to the latest information and high-quality training material is essential to ensuring they are equipped to make meaningful contributions in their roles,” CIPFA CEO, Rob Whiteman, commented.

“We look forward to working with Isio to deliver these services in-line with our Knowledge and Skills Framework.”

Adding to this, Isio director and national lead for local government, Urrffa Rafiq commented: “We’re delighted to be working with the team at CIPFA to deliver these essential resources for local pension board members and are committed to offering timely insight and information for all parties with LGPS interests.

“Our independence and expertise will provide a fresh perspective on the upcoming events and resources for members.”
