The BT Pension Scheme (BTPS) and its fiduciary manager, Brightwell, have reappointed Northern Trust to provide a range of asset servicing solutions.
The extended mandates include global custody, investment operations outsourcing and derivatives outsourcing, supporting the needs of both organisations through an integrated service model.
Commenting on the reappointment, Brightwell chief investment officer, Wyn Francis, said: “Following a detailed review of the market, Northern Trust stood out for its strong alignment with our strategic priorities and breadth of asset servicing capabilities.
“Its global custody network, investment operations outsourcing expertise and continued investment in technology provide the scale, resilience and innovation required to support the distinct yet connected needs of both BTPS and Brightwell as its fiduciary manager.”
Adding to this, Northern Trust Asset Servicing head of global fund service UK, Laurence Everitt, said this extension builds on Northern Trust’s “long-standing relationships” with both organisations, spanning more than 18 years with the BTPS and eight years with Brightwell.
“It reflects our ability to support both asset owners and asset managers through a broad and integrated set of capabilities, underpinned by deep expertise in the pension landscape and a strong focus on client service,” Everitt added.
“Our understanding of the distinct yet connected needs of both organisations enables us to deliver solutions that support their evolving requirements and long-term objectives.”
