Appointments update 3 September 2019

XPS Pensions Group has named Ben Gold as head of investment, taking over from Patrick McCoy who becomes head of advisory.

Gold has been with XPS for five years, prior to which he was principal investment consultant as KPMG and investment consultant at Entegria. McCoy has been at XPS for nearly two years and previously spend 11 years and 12 years at KPMG and Aon Hewitt respectively, most recently as head of investment advisory and investment consultant.

Smart Pensions has appointed Mark Howard as general counsel (pensions and financial services).

Prior to joining Smart, Howard spent fourteen years at city law firm, Clyde & Co., most recently as head of pensions, advising pension schemes, employers and pensions professionals on all areas of pensions and associated areas.

Lincoln Pensions has announced the appointment of Stephen Taylor as senior adviser.

Taylor brings over 35 years of experience to his new role, having previously acted as advisor, board member and facilitator to several companies including Enron, Parmalat, General Motors and Southern Cross. He set up his own consultancy, Isonomy, in 2013, offering advisory services to legislators and regulators, prior to which he spent almost eight years as managing director at AlixPartners.
