Appointments update - 29 September 2022

Smart has announced the appointment of Eve Read as senior director of strategic delivery.

Read will lead the UK proposition team as it builds new features for the Smart Pension Master Trust as well as contributing to the development of Keystone, also leading Smart Pension’s consolidation strategy. Read has two decades of experience focused on pensions at employee benefits consultant Mercer, which included setting up and running the firm’s UK DC consulting business. More recently she worked at Nest, where she led on business delivery and customer engagement.

HSBC has appointed Joanne Holden as head of governance.

As head of governance, Holden will lead the governance structures and processes of its master trust. Holden has spent the past seven years leading the governance of HSBC’s global pension risk exposures for its employee pension plans across multiple markets, including Hong Kong, the US and, most recently, the UK.

LV= has named Adam Ruddle chief investment officer.

Ruddle will be responsible for designing the investment strategy for LV=’s Smoothed Managed Funds, moving on from his previous role as senior investment manager at LV=. Ruddle commented on his appointment: “This is an exciting time to be working at LV= and I am delighted to be appointed chief investment officer."
