Appointments update – 24 February 2026

London CIV has announced the appointment of Danny Firth as chief operating officer.

Firth previously served as chief operating officer and chief executive of Tesco Pension Investment. He brings more than 30 years of experience to this role and, earlier in his career, he held managing director roles at JPMorgan Chase, led global asset manager strategy and key client relationships at BNP Paribas Securities Services, and held senior operational leadership positions at Threadneedle Asset Management and Legg Mason. He is a chartered management accountant. He will replace Martin Gloyne, who plans to retire later this year, but Gloyne will remain a London CIV director until his retirement later this year, supporting operational continuity and a structured handover. Firth will formally take his role from 16 March.

Aviva has appointed Chris Cochrane as group chief information officer (CIO), effective summer 2026.

The appointment is subject to approval by the Prudential Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority. Cochrane is currently the group chief information technology officer at M&G and replaces John Cummings, who is retiring. He has held several senior roles in technology, including as BT Global Services CIO and Openreach Service Delivery CIO. Commenting on the appointment, Aviva group chief executive officer, Amanda Blanc, said: “This is a very important appointment for Aviva. Chris is a seasoned, highly experienced CIO who brings a wealth of expertise to the company as we continue to grow and deliver for our customers and for our investors. I very much look forward to working with him."

Broadstone has appointed Stuart Hardy as client consulting director.

Hardy has over 16 years of experience across the defined contribution (DC) market and joins Broadstone from Evelyn Partners, where he spent more than two years as an associate director. In his career, he has previously held positions at Hargreaves Lansdown, Mercer and PwC. In his new role, Hardy will help drive Broadstone’s growth ambitions through managing client relationships, supporting business development and contributing to the development of the consultancy’s proposition. He will provide advice on areas such as scheme design, pension governance, provider market reviews, compliance, investment strategy and employee engagement.
