The Pension Superfund (PSF) has appointed James Pearce as its chief financial officer.
Pearce is a chartered accountant and financial executive with a focus on capital markets. He joins The PSF from Just Group, where he was director of group finance and was responsible for financial reporting, tax, corporate finance, investor relations and strategy. Pearce was also previously head of European insurance research and managing director at both JP Morgan Cazenove and UBS.
RPMI Railpen has named Martin Hunter as a pension policy actuary.
He has joined Railpen from XPS Pensions Group, where he has worked for the past 16 years. Hunter focused on corporate and transaction advisory work involving defined benefit pension schemes and, as a partner at XPS, built up a client base that included around 25 employers with sections in the Railways Pension Scheme. At Railpen, Hunter will be responsible for ensuring the trustee board and its committees can agree with employers’ integrated funding solutions.
Scottish Widows has appointed David Butcher, Gerald Wellesley and Sharon Bellingham to its master trust.
Bellingham arrives from Hymans Robertson as master trust lead. She has 25 years’ defined contribution experience and will be responsible for driving forward the insurer’s plans, developing future strategy, and leading on market engagement. Butcher, who has more than 40 years’ experience in pensions and investment, joins from Legal & General’s master trust and will also join Scottish Widows’ Independent Governance Committee. Wellesley is client director of Punter Southall Governance Services and has more than 35 years’ experience in the finance industry including 15 years as a pension trustee.
