Appointments update 22 May 2019

Criterion has appointed Billy Burnside as its new managing director.

Burnside joins Criterion after consulting at Deloitte LLP and a career in pensions that has included working with Friends Provident, Standard Life and Aviva. Prior to Deloitte, he worked as head of platform development and e-commerce at Aviva UK. Burnside was a Criterion non-executive director between July 2017 and March 2019.

Hymans Robertson has named Stephen Birch and James Mullins as equity partners.

Birch is strategy director at Hymans Robertson and is leading the firm’s retail market diversification. Prior to his current rule, he worked as head of investments for the insurance division of Lloyds Banking Group. Mullins is head of risk transfer at Hymans Robertson where he established the firm’s risk transfer business. He has worked at Hymans Robertson since 2007.

Intellica has announced the appointment of Shelagh Hamilton Jones as implementation manager.

Jones brings 20 years of financial services and pensions experience to her new role. Previously, she has worked as head of software delivery and quality assurance at MyCSP and as operations service delivery manager at Equiniti. The appointment follows Intellica announcing Paul Bingham as its first chair last month.
